Pillars of Care

Our goal for the missionaries that stay with us is that a variety of their needs are met: physical, spiritual, mental, social and recreational.

  • Home

Our homes will be updated, clean, and provide all the comforts of home including a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture, age appropriate toys/games/books, bedding and linens, bikes and helmets, outdoor toys, backyard playhouse, fire pit w/ outdoor seating, beach bag/beach towels, office supplies, and everything else that a typical home has.

  • Counselor

As front line spiritual workers, missionaries often can experience a high level of stress, trauma, and/or persecution. By providing free access to a Christian counselor during their stay, our hope is that the families will find space to process their last season of ministry, work through any unresolved issues, and find a safe place to be heard and understood through consistent counseling.

  • Small Touches

A house doesn’t feel like your home unless it has special personal touches. We desire for the families staying in our homes to feel ‘at home away from home’. So, personal family photos will be displayed throughout the house, and families will be encouraged to bring along their own belongings to make the space feel more like home.

  • Activity Passes

Many missionaries fundraise during their stay in the States. Since we desire to eliminate as many expenses as possible for them so they can utilize 100% of their funds raised for their annual fundraising goal, each home will have a ‘fun drawer’ that will include free annual passes to local activities such as zoos, museums, and gyms which will provide the family with opportunities to build beautiful memories together without spending a dime.

  • Welcome Basket

Who doesn’t love to be welcomed to a new place with a gift?! Each missionary family will have a gift basket waiting for them upon their arrival that will be filled with local goods, treats, fun paper products, gift cards to local restaurants/ice cream, and other items to brighten their day and help welcome them home.

  • Food

Can you imagine flying around the world (often with kids in tow), arriving at your final destination completely exhausted, and then needing to worry about grocery shopping to feed your crew?! When missionaries arrive at our home they will be welcomed with a stocked fridge that will get them through their first day while they get settled. They will be able to share any dietary needs their family has on our “pre-stay survey” so the food provided meets their family’s needs.

  • Vehicle

We have repeatedly heard from active missionaries that one of the most stressful and uncomfortable aspects of returning to the States is arranging personal transportation. Our homes will provide a vehicle that will accomodate each family during their stay.

  • Prayer Partners

A prayer team of 3-6 people will be assigned to each missionary family during their stay in the States. The prayer team will receive a specific prayer list provided by the missionary family. Prayer partners will have the opportunity to send cards, small gifts and encouragement to the family.

  • Outdoor Living Space

Connecting with family and friends is one of the things that missionary families most look forward to during their time back in the States. Our homes will feature a fabulous outdoor gathering space that is perfect for hosting small gatherings with loved ones.
